Follow the steps below to find out how to create images and add text effects to your greeting card projects.

You'll also learn how to create a vector based image, the advantage that a vector based image provides is that you can make them as big or as small as you like without loosing detail or quality.


To create the face:

From the Draw menu on the left hand side select Draw an Oval
Create the oval shape with a simple drag to your required size.
Double clicking on the image with the left mouse button will start the image control panel.

From the panel you'll be able to change colour, size and shape, you can also add fills and many other effects

Making the ears:

Select your oval with the mouse pointer, then using your keyboard hold down the Ctrl key, then press the 'C' key, this will copy the image to memory.

While still holding down the Ctrl key press the 'V' key, this will then paste the copied image onto your canvas.

Next re-size your new image to about 'Ear size!'

Use the copy and paste method as above to make another ear and position them on the head.

Use the same technique to create the cheeks and eyes.
To make the mouth:

From the Draw menu on the left hand side select Add a Custom Shape.

From the custom shape list select Donut, you can then use the slider bars to form the mouth, click OK
Re-size the mouth and move to position.

The eyebrows were made using sheared triangles, to shear a shape simply select the shape click on the shear tag and drag it in the direction of your choice.
To make the hair:

From the Draw Menu on the left hand side select Add a Custom Shape.

Scroll down the list and select Wave you can then use the slider bars to form the hair, click OK, rotate and position.
Making the frame and adding text:

From the Graphic Tools select Add a Border, select the style from the list, then re-size the border to fit your design.

Adding text is simple, click on the Text tool either select Add your own text or Add a New sentiment (Greeting card factory has over 3500)

Arranging objects:

You can place objects and text in front of, or behind other objects.

Select an object, then press the right mouse button,
from the drop down list select Arrange, you'll then be able to move the object.
