Another freezing December and Amy was on the hunt for some really special Christmas cards for her husband, Mum and Dad etc.,

Business was doing well with her painted frames and furniture, yet she felt
that at times she needed a product that she could sell which had a quicker turn around.

She had quite a few good clients with retail outlets and with this in
mind she had been looking around for another way of selling her art.

She wrapped her coat around her and braced herself for the icy December wind as she stepped out to the High Street.

She first headed for Birthdays after much perusal she found that she really couldn't find anything at all that she really wanted.

Heading onwards to Clinton Cards, inside the sheer volume of cards took her breath away, she stayed for a long time checking out the cards and the
prices finally deciding that time was of the essence and she had so much
else to buy she picked five cards, all of which were really a compromise to
what she would have liked.

At the cash desk she was thinking perhaps the cost would be £7.00 to £8.00 so when the cashier asked for £22.50 she was left reeling with shock "What...."
she spluttered " Is that right""

Primly the cashier went through each card and relayed the prices.
Amy shook her head is dismay and handed over the cash. She hurried from the shop in a huff.

Later she relayed this story to her husband, he was listening rather
pensively, after she had finished he remained quiet for an hour or so,
until finally Amy could stand it no longer.

'Are you cross with me for spending so much on the cards' she demanded to know, convinced that the silent treatment was because of this reason,

He laughed a great bellowing gurgle

'Is that what you think ..'

'Well yes', she replied, annoyed with herself as much as him

'No Amy I have been thinking, I have an idea, I think you'll like it'

He then began to tell her that he thought she could design cards and sell
them, plus do a far better job for a lot less money and still make a profit out of them selling trade to her clients, as well as selling direct.

She was amazed it had not even occurred to her that there was a positive
end to this experience and what he said made sense, it was just
what she had been looking for!

For Amy and her husband this was a new beginning and they had a great
Christmas talking about her new business venture, the new year was going to be very rosy indeed, or so she thought, if only she knew the truth!
